Smoked Salmon Toasts

This salmon appetizer is perfect for parties, a weekend breakfast or any occasion where you're looking to impress guests and enjoy a delicious treat. Either smoke your own salmon or purchase as a local market.

Ingredients
 1 lb smoked sockeye salmon, skinned and bones removed
 4 oz cream cheese, softened
 1 tsp fresh dill (heaping tsp)
 1 tsp fresh chives (heaping tsp)
 ¼ cup diced or slivered red onion
 ½ tsp sea salt (or less)
 ½ tsp ground black pepper
 ½ tsp sweet paprika
 2 tbsp capers
 ½ loaf of baguette bread
Utensils and Other Tools
 2 medium size mixing bowls
 1 mixing spoon
 1 cutting board
 measuring cups, spoons
 1 sharp paring knife
 1 fork
 1 toaster oven
 1 serving bowl
Direction

Pick salmon into small pieces and place on plate or in mixing bowl.

In a separate mixing bowl, add cream cheese, dill, chives, sea salt, and paprika. Mix all ingredients together.

Cut bread into ½” to 1” sections and toast in toaster oven.

Spread cream cheese mixture on toast pieces.

Sprinkle with onion, or lay sliced red onion on top of spread.

Using fork, place salmon over onion.

Top with capers and serve immediately.

Option: If you want to create a chunky salmon spread, add fish, capers and onions to cream cheese mixture and mix to a chunky consistency, but do not overdo it. Spread mixture onto toast.
